BEERTENDER JOB DESCRIPTION
Beertender is responsible for the day to day operation of the tasting room; providing excellent service, serving and suggestively offering food and/or beverages while adhering to responsible alcohol vending standards; maintaining a clean bar area, and delivering a fun, clean atmosphere to internal and external guests according to the established guest service standards.
Responsibilities:

Move with a sense of urgency by processing guests’ orders. Serve draft beer and other beverages, merchandise and snacks. Check identification of guests, to ensure that they are of legal drinking age. Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

Operate cash registers, collect payments from guests, and return change. Practice proper cash handling procedures by addressing the point-of-sale system after every transaction, properly organizing money, counting change back to guests, and following appropriate cash out procedures.

Maintain work areas by organizing and cleaning bar, tables and service well. Bus tables and bar top as needed of used glassware, etc. Complete all opening, running, and closing duties as assigned. Manage bar operation and orders and maintains supplies throughout the shift.

Adhere to any opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down the venue, as scheduled. Maintain a clean, organized and sanitized bar area. Wash glassware, stock, clean, put away product or discard waste as needed.

Promote and provide extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answer questions, offer information, and provide assistance in a courteous manner.

Understand and demonstrate the proper use of safety practices and ensure department standards are maintained and safety policies are upheld.

Clean the entire taproom area as part of a team, including cleaning tables and seating, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and maintaining high standards for all customer and employee areas.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be 21 years or older.

Must have Craft Beer knowledge.

Previous Bartender experience preferred.

Must be able to work nights and weekends.
-
Ability to work late hours.
-
Must have a flexible schedule.
-
Cash handling experience.
-
Required to stand and walk.
-
Required to talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
-
Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
-
Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and move or lift up to 50 lbs using proper lifting techniques.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork.

Physically able to pass a pour test.

Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner.

Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms.

Have integrity and high ethical values.

Ability to complete Responsible Beverage Service Training Certification, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Certification, and make the Safe Bars Pledge.

The rate of pay for this position is $16.04 per hour plus tips.
